Trust Arcticugol in Barentsburg has acquired a cutter, similar to the
workboat 'Teisten' in Ny-Ålesund. From this summer on it can be hired for
scientific and explorative purposes.

published. The updated version features a lot of information about the
glaciers of Svalbard. Authors are Doug Benn from the University Centre in

SvalGlac has started - first field season, spring

ESF-funded PolarClimate proposal SvalGlac is a consortium of glaciologists
from 13 different countries working together. The project aims to
investigate the balance and state of the glaciers and ice caps on Svalbard
in period 2010-2012 and it has just started its field activities with a
kick-off season on Lomonosovfonna and Nordenskiöldbreen.
